Hey all...i was thinking about canceling the motor fan linked to belts.. and adding a second electrical fan... does this sound as good idea? Does this provoque harm to the engine somehow? Will i gain extra HP ?.... thanks for advices and coments .

 

U may gain 2-3 hp. Personally I would prefer to leave the mechanical fan there... Just in case electric fans doesn't turn on one day.

 

I have thought of doing this aswell. For more for temp sake as it gets somewhat hot here in the summer. And mine seems to run pretty warm.

 

Been there done that. Only if you are upgrading your alternator also. Stock XJ can't push 2 fans to max CFMs that the fan can produce.

 

Good idea for summer, just need to ensure the overall consumption is within alternator capacity.

 

Best thing for summer is the HD mechanical fan clutch. Can even let the jeep idle with AC on full, without temperature creep.
