Bought a new Jeep over the weekend the guy had a 4.56 gears put in the front axle but didn't get around to putting them in the rear I the front drive shaft has been taken out. I was wondering if the 4.56 gears is to much for the Jeep it has an auto trans with 265 75 16 tires on it. He gave the gears to put in the rear and all new bearings and seals.

those gears seem like overkill for that size of tire
If I put the stock gears back in the front will that work? I'm just gonna run the tires that's on it or put a set 31x10.50x15 on it when I get a different set of wheels
If I run 33s I will have to put another lift under it and I don't wanna trim the fenders I'm kinda on tight budget. If put the 3.55s back in the front axle will them be ok to run 31x10.50x15?
3.55 and 31 will still be under geared IMO. I ran that and constantly had to keep it in third on any hill as overdrive is practically useless. Also had issues with the tranny getting hot. Youre better off saving some dough and getting the rearend geared and trimming the fenders if you get 33's.

Been running them for 4 or 5 yrs now, no problems at all under any conditions, but it is a little down on power from the stock tire size.
