Default New to jeep. Bought 98 Cherokee. Electrical problem. Please help!

Hi all. I just bought a 98 jeep cherokee sport. The headlights don't work. When the left blinker is turned on non of the front blinkers flash but rears do. When right blinker is on all blinkers flash as if hazards are on. When head light switch is pulled out half way it has a weird buzz coming from it. I have changed the headlight switch and multifunction switch. The flasher relay under dash on driver side and checked all the fuses. Any ideas of other things to check or common places for wires to get pinched? Would appreciate te help. Thank you!

I suck at electrical, but the buzzing with the headlight switch is just a warning so you don't leave them on. Like the door ajar buzz that is beyond annoying. Not sure about the other stuff.

Fsher is probably right about the buzz.

As for the rest you're going to need to start checking the harness for something weird.
Rodents (mice, squirrels) making a nest or eating the insolation off the wires.
Water getting into the power distribution box under the hood.
The clutch leaking fluid down into the fuse panel.
Somebody had to stash their panty hose under the dash before their wife found them and knocked a plug loose.
...something like that.

^^^^^ TOTALLY TRUE.....
I would check all my connections and watch for corresion or rust on any terminals also like Marcucco said check your wires and wire looms and look for anytihng weird.

I've also seen a similar issue caused by an aftermarket alarm system that was malfunctioning. Those things tie into the lighting circuits, at least for parking lights and interior lights. Mine also ties into my headlights.

Another guess on the flashers is a turn signal switch going bad or shorted internally.

The headlights, obviously on a separate switch, are probably not related to your flasher issue, at least not sharing the same specific issue. Just coincidence that they don't work. Check you underhood relay for the headlights. Try swapping it with a similar relay and see what you get.

Thank you for all your replies so far! When I test the ground wires at the location of the harness under the air box they are somehow getting power when switch is turned on. But if I unplug the harness the grounds Stay grounded and everything acts as if nothing is wrong at least looking at the dash, it doesn't flash funny like it does when plugged in.
Also what is the headlight relay labeled under the hood? I don't see one that say head light.

Ok I had a bad ground in the harness under te air box. I corrected it. During testing I got a head light to turn on but now everything works fine except the head lights. There's no hi or low beam. And the high beam light doesn't come on the dash wether its turned on or flashed. All fuses look good. Can it be anything else? Is there a relay somewhere?

I had the same problem with the buzzing and my lights were very dim. I removed the switch and cleaned all of the contacts on the switch and the plug and with CRC contact cleaner. I put it back in and everything works perfectly and no buzz.
