As I understand it the C8.25 is a direct bolt-in. How DIRECT is it really? Literally unbolt my D35 and prop up the 8.25 and rebolt?

And also, if it has disc brakes, take em too? Not sure the big difference between em but I can still take it. Anything required for the disc conversion?

I'm sure I have more questions on the axle swap but I can't think of em now. I'm headin to a picknpull in the next week sometime to take on from an explorer and then I'll be getting my lift.

I have an 8.8 in the shop it has 4.10s and an open carrier. Its going to replace my D35 after the first of the year.

Ok so i have front xj driveshaft and ironrock hack n tap on its way. I've been seeing some stuff about the drive shaft might not work with dana 35. Its my dd so how can I make this work without 8.25? I have transfer case drop should I leave that in. How far extended should that drive shaft be at running length? Should I just split the travel distance? Id like to grab a 8.25 but might not be for a bit. Ill see how much money I have left after christmas.

So heres some pics of my rear axle, and my front axle. From the pics I have of D35s and 8.25s, I'm thinking my rear is an 8.25. But can someone else confirm or deny it? As far as I know my jeep is a stock 1996 SE. Help?

more than likely a 27 spline unless it was a late late 96.

only way to be 100% is to pull a shaft and count
