Can someone tell me where I might find that kit where you can run your belt without the AC compressor. I'm saying i saw someone post it I want to see if there was some type kit with an idler pulley or something to that nature that you could buy and run without using AC compressor any help would be appreciated thank you

 

Im currently looking at them as well. I have settled on an idler pulley that takes the place of the AC compressor. If you search for jeep 4.0 AC idler pulley on google alot of results come up. I think they vary a little on what year it is. Some have 3 holes vs 4 holes for mounting. Mine is a 2000 so needs the 4 hole pulley. I think I found mine at summit for $40 or so.

 

I got super-lucky and found the idler to replace the AC pump at the local pick-n-pull. just a few bucks. Have replaced the bearing once or twice since, but that is a cheap and easy fix. When my XJ dies I'll put the pully up for auction!

I deleted the AC from my 89 XJ a few months ago and was able to find an original bracket. That might be a bit easier up here. Of the 8 Jeeps that I've owned over the years only 2 have had AC. I need to start paying closer attention to this at the junk yards.
