Default serpentine belt

Hello Everyone,

I was one of the fortune people to have AC in my jeep. However shortly after getting it (used) the AC took a crap on me. I replaced all the relays... anyways the compressor is making noise. I'm pretty sure I have no coolant in the system. I don't want to replace the compressor. Can I just get the serpentine belt without AC and just leave the compressor bolted on or do I need to get that arm/bearing that quadratec has? The arm/bearing is a bolt on unit to simulate that an ac is there so you don't need another serpentine.... I'm guessing there isn't a timing issue? I dunno so I thought I'd ask.

If you have no coolant in the system you can get that at your local parts store for 10 to15 bucks a can. If you just dont need ac the same store should be able to give you the right size belt to just do away with the compressor

I ended up pulling my A/C but could not find a reasonably priced A/C delete kit (none at the wreckers and Chrysler wanted about $200) so I gutted the compressor. It is still fairly heavy but better than it was. Pleased wit results.

I looked in my back seat and I saw I had bought an extra belt last yr in case it broke. I'm going to test it with a gauge then just go with an ac bypass.

Does anyone know if going with the autozone bypass is ok? I know sometimes some stores have better parts individually i.e. heater control valve go with napa or every other will explode.
