Question Bed Liner Paint Job

I am still new to this so I am sorry if there is already a thread for this.

My 1999 Jeep Cherokee sports paint job is starting it's slow decline. I have been seeing a lot of people using bed-liner to paint their jeep and I think it looks bad ***. I was thinking doing the bottom half from under the door handles in the bed liner and then having the top be a different color kinda like this:

Any ideas on how much bed liner I should buy? I was thinking about U-Pol Raptor Tintable Urethane Spray-On Truck Bed Liner Kit W/Spray Gun 8 Liter but I am unsure. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The 4 liter kit should be enough to do that.

Mine is done in the tan Rustoleum rattle can stuff. Better than the blue it was. Easy for touch up too...

How does this stuff do with adding against rust? Ive got a few really really small spots of surface rust. I’m debating on painting the entire XJ after I fix the rust and repaint the spots just to freshen everything up but I’ve never painted a vehicle before so I’m apprehensive. It’s my adventure car but also my DD so I want it to look as nice as possible so I don’t want to just rattle can it or have spots that don’t match

As long as you sand or grind the surface rust off first it provides good rust protection.

Anyway to not end up with a really rough texture and maybe something not so matte in color?

I swear every time I think about doing something it’s farther and farther from stock and that wasn’t my original intention with the build lol

Raptor liner can be thinned down enough to spray in a regular paint spray gun, that would give you the least amount of texture, but I have never done it that way.

Hmmm I’ll have to look into that
