Quote: and? get that welder out and fix it.
i was just sayin that it would be as easy as puttin in a xj 44

Quote: so the 8.25 is a good axle? second best to the 44? but doesnt have as much after market support?
the 44 IMO is the best, most aftermarket support, a 97 and up 8.25 is next as far as bolt in axles

Quote: Didn't the 44 come in some cherokees with the tow package?
I know some came with the Dana 44. I was referring to the 89 I have didn't come with it from the factory. That was swaped in by the previous owner. Just checking if its got 4:10's and lockers by not having to pull the cover.

^ the gear ratio thing is funky...
I have heard from some threads that the four cylinder is the only one with 4.10s... Wrong. My six cylinder has 4.10s. But mine also has the peugot b/a 10 5 transmission too... Best way to know for sure is to crack open that case bud, sorry..

Just take off the cover. any smart person would also change the fluid when using "new" axles...
