Default AXLE UPDRADE

Finally time to upgrade the axles so i want your opinions. Rear = 8.25. Front = D30. Im planning on new axle shafts in the rear, 4.56 gears, and a locker in the rear. For the shafts i was planning on goin with either G2 or superior as well as the gears. For the locker I think I have my mind set on the Detroit one. I want opinion on this set up up. What do you think? Are these good companies for the parts or should I look at others? Also anyone have the same locker and what do you think about it? Im wanting to do diff covers to but I cant really find anything I like. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Personally I would spend the money on alloy shafts for the d30 unless you upgrade to 30 spline inners, and outers. I also dont think a detriot is a good choice for a front axle where you cant unlock the hubs. I would either run a selectable or a lunchbox locker in the front..

I don't recommend 30 spline outers unless you're willing to pony-up for a set of 30 spline spares. That's a lot of coint to have rolling around in the back of your rig.

Ya...a vendor telling you not to buy the expensive stuff. Weird ain't it?

I totally hear what you are saying.. But you have seen my pics of alloy Usa shafts.. and I was on 33's. I think with 30 spline shafts in a d30 you have true d44 strength (except ring gear and knuckle) but 98% of the ppl out wheeling they will be fine.

I suppose it can happen to any shaft really. I've heard of guy's snapping youkon shafts on right after the other and yet the next rig with stock shafts crawls over the same line without any problems at all. Sometimes Lady Luck smiles, other times she'll give ya the finger.

Well I dont have to worry about the shafts in the D30 cause im only doin axles and a locker in the rear. The front is only gettin a new carrier and gears.
