I have a 2000 XJ classic, LP D30 front. I'm looking at getting RCV shafts but I have the option of disco or non-disco shafts. Both are 27 spline, but disco style are almost 100 more a set. How do I know which ones I need, and what is the difference? Thanks,

What do they do? And I hear a lot of talk about C-clip shafts, are they talking about the u-joint between the inner shaft and the stub shaft or something different? I recently replaced my hubs and my shafts came out and went back in easily, do I not have to worry about anything and just buy new shafts or am I missing something? Just don't want to spend a 1000 on shafts and have them be wrong.
Edit: When talking about disco front axle, my thinking is a manual hub. Is this the same thing or am I off on a totally different track?

When they say disco front axle they mean how up until 91 the passenger side shaft was a 2 piece shaft that could be disconnected. If you have a '00 you need the non disco

Don't have to be full float to not have c-clips. Just find an axle with out them and uses a retainer like a D44 or 9inch. Good luck with the RCVs, pretty much overkill for any size tire you'd run on a D30. I've seen them break, on a buggy running 44s on a 60, but they replace them no questions asked.
The best upgrade for a d30 is the 30 spline upgrade for the inner.. followed quickly by the 30 spline outer upgrade which requires a new unit bearing. But once you spend that kinda money on a d30 you are in the price range of a d44.
