My brother and I found a set of xj factory 410 axles. Was just wonder what people would recomend we replace befor we put them in my brothers jeep. Axles are HP30 and 27 spline C8.25 from a 4 banger 5 speed.

Brakes and fluids definitely. Now's the time to take a look at the ball joints and tie rods to see if there is any play or the boots are cracked and it's easy to check the wheel hubs while it's out (also fairly easy to check when it goes in also). Make sure none of the brackets are rusted out also.

^ this. Diff fluid is an absolute must. I'd replace the u joints while it's not on the jeep as well. Take a look at what kind of shape the upper control arm bushings are in in addition to everything listed above

Diffs are empty cause i pulled both covers to make sure they where both 410. The bars for the steering are all solid aftermarket stuff and new u-joints are on the way will check the other things listed thanks all.

I would check bearings, brakes, and if you plan on wheeling this Cherokee get some diff armor on them. Also I would look into upgrading the C/8.25 to 29 spline shafts.

I'd replace everything that can be replaced...

Unit bearings
Bushings
u-joints
Inner seals
Pinion seal
ball joints
TRE if they don't look brand new.

Sand blast it, paint it, make it pretty.

Then beat the hell out of it.

The Jeeps only on 31s the 27 spline will be fine till he gets his 29 spline detroit locker and 1540 shafts. If it brakes the 27 spline shafts its the driver not the tires. Anyone use the all most aloy kit from IRO is it worth the money if hes gona run stock front shafts with new u-joints.
