Default Auto to manual swap- bearings?

Hey fellas,
im swapping my aw4 to an ax15, but heres an issue me and my buddy ran in to in our sleep deprived state (very excited about finishing the project).

the aw4, being an auto and having the torque converter, has the pilot bushing/bearing in the crank, right? it sits just to that if i were to set the new pilot bearing for the ax15 in there, it would almost be perfectly flush against the crank. i dont think thats how its supposed to go in, i feel as if the automatic had a bushing of some sort in the crank, and it needs to be removed. any help is beyond appreciated, im really stuck on this one...

I don't think there's a pilot in there if it had an auto in it. Snap a picture if you can.

If it was an auto there is no bushing or bearing. There was 4 different kinds of bearings or bushings it can have. I need to know what year the motor is and kind of trans and year it is to get you the correct advise

i apologize for my herp-derp post, but my motor is an 89 renix, aw4 auto tranny, swapping to a ax15 out of a 95. i already got the pilot for the manual, i just wanna make sure to either pull the old bearing (if it exists), or just go ahead and slap in the new bearing. AFAIK the aw4 was the same year as the motor was, a 89. both the manual and the auto were 4wd

Are you sure you got the right one? You will need to hammer it in.

Ok, just to make double sure, when I hammer the new bearing in the crank, should it be flush with the tail of the flange, or set inside the flange a little?

What part number was it because the bearing that came with my clutch kit was way to small for my 89 crank...maybe your motors had been changed b4?
