My alternator went out on my 1999 jeep cherokee sport 2wd 4.0 v6 . My alternator went out . I was told it would cost 149.99 for a new one. A few years ago I bought a motor and transmission for my jeep . I thought it was the exact motor and trasmission I have in my truck so i decided to take the alternator off and save some money but there was a problem. My alternator only has 2 plugs . This motor has a alternator that is different it has a small plug and a big plug with one big wire and two small wires . I really dont know how to explain it other then the pics. My question is can and how do I convert the alternator to work in my truck. Also the one on the top came out of my truck . the on eon the bottom came from my spair motor. I want to convert the one on t

Thanks tech . this loks like a good one. Listen I have a 1999 jeep cheokee xj 6 cylinder 2wd 4.0 sport . i bought a spair motor and transmission . has 98 on the casting and transmission . would that be an easy swap if i ever needed to ?
I think you can use the intake and exhaust it came with if you have them . Checking on Rockauto it does use a different intake/exhaust gasket so one or both of the manifolds will be different .
