You sure you dont have that muffler backwards? Should be offest in and center out but you have center in and offset out?

The center input was labeled with a bright orange sticker that said "input". Would there be a sound difference if it were backwards?

Yep. Is it actually hitting your driveline?

It wasn't, but it would have once I put my lift on. I did end up fixing this situation. I took the whole works out, flipped the muffler around so the output is on the driver's side, shortened the coupler between the muff & cat and added an extension to the tailpipe on the muffler side, welded it all up and all is good now. I'd offer a pic but the Jeep is so sloppy and nasty from all the snow, I'll wait until I can wash it good. I love it so far.

What is the go-to replacement exhaust header? Mine is cracked and I want to start looking around. Should I do the cat & muffler at the same time to update the whole shebang?

I like the Banks revolver, built beefy, zero issues, definite butt-dyno noticeable and of course sounds WAY better.

Depends on how much you want to spend. Apn is good for the money but they've got fitment issues. Check performancecurve.com for cat back systems. You'll definitely want a new downpipe, I hear Walker makes a good one but me personally I'd like one custom made by a local shop so it's high and tight.

The APN fitment issue is on 99 XJ's with the u shaped intake. However I had no issues with the fitment on mine with the newer style intake manifold. I also have a performance curve catback and custom 2.5" mandrel bent downpipe I am happy with my exhaust system for the money.

The issue I had was on a 92 motor with a 97 intake. Had to grind the #6 runner on the intake and bore the mounting holes on the exhaust so the two manifolds wouldn't touch. From what I've heard, the manifolds are pretty hit or miss as far as fitment goes. For the money and the construction of it, it's hard to pass up. But having to move it from its intended position, as well as changing the structural integrity and heat resistance of the #6 intake runner makes me wonder if I'm gaining anything over stock. It's like 2 steps forward 1 step back.

I'm about to get rid of the resonator and stock muffler. And straight pipe to a smaller muffler in order to get the exhaust Above the frame rail. My question is how much of a wear difference is there on a tire if I get rid of the tail pipe and have the exhaust come out of the back right wheel well. Onto the tire

Heating the tire can in theory cause more wear on the tire, but unless your heating the tire by... 20*? I wouldn't think its a bug deal, why not just run it text to the frame rail all the way to the rear?

Power/cost stock the diameter changes from 2.5 to 2.25 between the cat and the muffler I would keep that 2.5 all the way through the muffler to hopefully pick up some power. But I couldn't find a 2.5 tail pipe and don't really want to pay to have one bent for me ( still haven't even lifted. )I got priorities! Lol
