Mods don't like talk of it but no, it won't mess it up too badly. My dad's runs fine without one. You'll have one in a few days so, you'll be fine.

It sounds like I have a leak in my exhaust manifold. I can hear exhaust leaking in the engine compartment, but I cannot really see it from above or below. Is there an easy way to check without taking it out?

Also, is it safe getting one at my local Pull A Part or should try and find a new one?

Thanks!

The way I found mine was by doing the seafoam treatment through the vacuum line, when the smoke starts you'll find your leaks.

Ok I'm still new to customizing cars. So I'll sound like a retard but I want my xj to rumble and sound good but I don't want to sound ignorant. What's the best product for that? Particularly something cheaper if possible.

Rumble and sound good, get a flowmaster 40 from Amazon for $60. Have a local shop weld it on. To have it sound even better, grab a magnaflow high flow cat to have in front of your 40. You can get one from Amazon for $40. To have it sound even better get a 3" turndown tip from autozone for $10. $110 for parts, idk how much for welding. The shop I use would charge $80-90

And for the muffler just go to amazon.com and search flowmaster 40. You will want a center in offset out and either 2.25 or 2.5 piping

Yessir I just had to go to the parts store and buy some clamps and extension. But that is temporary I am going to have it welded on like my muffler and I suggest anyone else do the same.

Ok, am in the process of a RMS change. My 01's Y-pipe has all the emissions BS. Question, is there a high flow y-pipe available. I figured if I am going to be pulling it then I might as well upgrade. Headers are kind pricey for the 01. Banks is a little under 500.00. Also, if by some chance my head cracks on me in the future, would the headers from this 01 bolt up to a earlier model?

A y-pipe you may be able to have an exhaust shop fab up, you can never go wrong with headers vs stock manifolds, and as far as I know the exhaust and intake ports are all in the same configuration for HOs.

You may want to look into the APN header. All stainless steel for about $150. Search it and you'll find many have made the change. This winter I'll be putting one on my dad's cherokee, along with a 99+ intake.
