This is a decent price from what I've seen however I was looking on ebay and I found this header

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1991-99-Jeep...ht_2442wt_1163

They both look identical and have similar descriptions, the ebay listing just doesn't say APN. What do yall think?
Anybody know if they're the same?

My 96 has had a bad cat code since I bought it (turned out PO had hollowed it out). Last weekend I put a new Magnaflow cat on. The cat to muffler fit was good, but the cat to down pipe was loose. I put a couple of exhaust clamps on and that snugged it up, but it's leaking exhaust at the down pipe and now I have a high idle (1500 rpm) problem. I also found a hairline crack in the exhaust manifold that may be new, but it's a minor leak compared to cat-downpipe connection.

Would an sizable exhaust leak at the cat-downpipe cause high idle? Should I just take it to a shop and have them weld it on?

They haven't made the original 40 in the offset that our jeeps need in a long time (almost 10 years). If anyone wants to run the Original 40 they need to have a custom exhaust done. For the simplicity the Super 44 or Super 40 would be the path to take.

Super 40's and 44's are painted black. Original 40's and Delta Flow 40's are painted grey.

Band clamps!!! Just as good as welding when it comes to exhaust, but you can remove it. They're $10-$15 at an auto parts store.

Thanks for the tip! I'll stop by NAPA today and try to find some band clamps. My local O'Reilly's just had the regular u-bolt style.

No problem! I just used them for the first time recently and realized it could have saved me alot of time and headache trying to weld it and cut it back out. Just be careful cause I've got 2.5" piping and got a 2.5" clamp and it was just a bit too small so I had to get the next size up because of the I.d. and o.d.

Default Need New Exhaust

Hey guys, I just bought my 99 XJ 4.0 about a month ago. The exhaust system, (cat, muffler, and pipes) are all rusty and starting to get holes. What muffler/cat/pipe combo would be good to make it sound mean but not too loud, and not cost too much?

Any other upgrades I should do at the same time?

I went with the super 44 flow master, it sounds epic with my honeycomb cat. all around 164$ including install. (cat was from previous). Just go on utube and see what they sound like. I think u would like the super 44. Super 40 seems to loud, almost like a yoda, or ricer
