Is it a good idea to try to save by getting cheaper shocks?

Assuming a 2" lift, are there special, longer shocks that go with it? Seems like there would be, but I have looked at various brands, but none seem to incidate that they are made for 2" lift, or any size lift for that matter. How do i know which ones to get.

Any suggestions (other than stop being a p**** and get a bigger lift) would be appreciated.
Everyone here is in agreement that OME is the number one choice for smaller lifts and ride quality. However, how many people know from first hand experience? Who knows. I don't think it should be OME or bust for ride quality. There's only so much you can do with curved steel lol. Sometimes the bushings of your suspensions components can make a huge difference as well (shackles, control arms, etc.) so check the condition of yours. As far as shocks, Bilsteins are some of the most popular but are not cheap. I personally am going with the shocks from Fat Bob's Garage. I've read many good things about them and for the very low price I'm willing to take the chance. If you don't order yours soon, hit me up in two or three weeks and see how I like my shocks haha.

Shocks are typically listed as "designed for this much lift" or list the length of the shock both collapsed and extended. If they don't have either, you can google the part number to try to find more specs, you can ask the seller or you can just assume it's OEM replacement/fitment. You don't want shocks that don't extend long enough as they'll limit flex and you don't want shocks that will bottom out because you will ruin them. If yours are in good condition, stock shocks work on a two inch lift and I would just leave them. They will "limit" your flex but for a DD with a two inch lift that shouldn't be a big problem. I'm moving up to three or three and a half inches and still have the shocks that rolled out of the factory 19 years ago, that's why I'm upgrading.

I bought a 93 XJ that currently had a 2.5" Rough Country lift on it. I want at least 4" of lift. My question is do I need to buy and entire new lift kit, or can I add something to make it a couple inches higher? I know either way I will need a SYE. Any ideas?

It depends on what your current lift consists of, you may be able to add to it, but you may have to replace it.

I want to buy Cragar Soft 8 wheels

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/crr-3975812/overview/

What would be the best 15" setup to accommodate a 235/75R15 for now and then a 31"x10.50"R15 after I lift it? Like 15x7 or 15x8?

Also, what is the lowest price complete set 2" budget lift? I see parts here and there to make the lift, but is there the complete set?

Go 15x8 and call it a day... For a 2 inch lift all you need is new coils ( or spacers), shackle or leaf spring set up and new shocks. That's what you NEED. There's kits out there with new coils and leafs or shackles and spacers... It's about what you want and your $$

I just want what will lift it and hold up. And the bolt pattern is 5x4.5 right?

OME if you have the money, RE BB kit or anything else will work for ya. And yeah that's the right bolt pattern, I think 4" is standard cragar back spacing

I'll do OME for a higher lift later on, right now a budget lift is enough to make me happy. I just need to know of the kit for a 2" lift. I saw this RC kit:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/360504329865...84.m1423.l2649

I also saw the RC shackle relocation kit for the rear only here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/380502751153...84.m1423.l2649

If I do the shackle relocation kit, does RC have the front pucks?

OME isn't that high and is awesome quality. Do those relocation brackets unless your leaves are bad then just get new leaves. I would find new coils up front and not do spacers because of flex and ride quality.

Alright, I'm just in the middle of buying rims and tires so money for lift is kinda tight.
