So, when you talk about rubbing, is that the wheels into the fender wells (or whatever they are, you know what I mean) or against the control arms?

Also, at what point do you need longer brake lines? And is that taking into account flex?

If you your brake lines are tight b4 you flex then they arent going to make it if you do. So that is when you need new brake lines. From my own experience when you get near 4" lift you need some new brake lines. On the 97+ I think you need them on 3+. I did. The stainless steel braided ones stand up to flex much better than the factory ones. When people talk about rubbing they are talking about just that. Rubbing is undesirable, but can be fixed with proper bumpstoping, trim, baskspacing and so on and so forth. Are you having trouble with rubbing? There are few places where rubbing can occur. If you are having a problem or expect to be post your concern,

My rule of thumb is that anytime you get new LCAs or a long arm kit you need longer brake lines. even stock with after-market LCAs you can get enough droop to put your brake lines at risk.

as far as rubbing for most of us its on the LCA and not the fender well. others may have huge tires on small lifts and experience different problems.

Ok, I am putting a 2" lift in my 96 Sport. I'm getting the Spring spacers and the Old Man Emu 2" Heavy Load Leaf Spring, and the bushings. Do I need anything else? Or is this all I will need? I realize I will need new nuts, bolts, etc, do they sell a bushing set with all the hardware included? I thought I saw one on quadratec, but I can't seem to find it anymore... Thanks.

don't get the heavy load springs, get the medium load ones and if you need an overload spring for some reason farther down the road you can always add one in.

ok, I carry a lot of gear in my Jeep all the time, granted it's not too heavy(camping, kayak gear, cooler etc.) but it's always in there, so that won't be an issue with the medium duty over an extended period of time?

I am new here to Cherokee Forum, and currently have a 93 xj with approximatly 4" lift and 31's I am plannin on upgrading to 6.5 or maybe rustys 8" lift, maybe go with RC lift not sure yet... I have some throw away 4.56 gears and carries on the way and once they are installed will be running 33x12.50's untill I get Dana 44's front and rear swapped in. I plan on running my XJ in a mixture of rock, trails, and mud with the occasional pavement pounding. Has anyone have any good advice on lift kits to buy?

no need to go that high for 33's. you can run 35's with that much lift easily. hearing great things about IRO. RE makes a 5.5 but probably will net you more like 6". I would stick to a 4.5" and cut the fenders. keep it low and stable especially in the PNW!

Do you know anyone who runs the IRO? Most everyone one I know here rolls with a toyota or a TJ, and usually go with full traction on the TJ's..... I really just want to get a good warm and fuzzy about a certain lift before I spend the hard earned GI Bill money on it lol..... Mosy of my big wheeling will be at either Eble Hills or at Browns camp... Thats about the only places the guys I hang out with go.

Why aren't the heavyload springs from oldman emu recommed, I was thinking about the 2inch kit for my 2000 xj, this jeep is the one my wife drives during the winter I dont want to have to worry about the rear springs de arcing like most other kits. But thats just my experiance with a couple of spring packs on my jeep. thx

they are meant for someone that stores a large load in the jeep. if you dont have the weight needed for these springs they will ride super rough.
