ok so i searched this thread putting in "slip yoke eliminator" and didnt see my answer so im going to ask the question. i know i have read about people putting in a front driveshaft along with there slip yoke eliminators my question is what front drive shaft y'all' using? out of what year and what not? im going to the pick n pull tomorrow probably to get one, dont worry i will replace the u joints when i get it i just dont wanna spend a ton on a tom woods or other company and since this thing is going to see more pavement and trails than rocks i figured that shaft would work unless im wrong. oh and do you see any reason not to go with the ebay special sye? its made by rugged ridge and only 159.95$. thanks again for the help.

You will definetly need a new trac bar or need to relocate it. From what I understand I pitman arm fixes the angles that a new trac bar causes. I could be wrong. I think pitman arms are dependant on the year and your steering angles. I put my 4" on and then took a pic of my angles and posted it on here and asked if i needed one. I got a definte yes on mine, but some dont need one at that lift height

Rough Country 1.5 inch kit. Good idea for me or not?
You get shackles with both 1.5" mounting and 2" mounting choices. The front coil spacers are actually 1.75". You can buy the kit minus the shocks. I like my factory ride. I just bought 31's and Bushwacker cutout flares (which don't increase vertical clearance). I'm not going to do any trails (just the beach, and trailering a boat). This will be mostly for the street with an off-road look. My plan is to put the rear shackle in the 1.5" mounting hole, pop the spacers up front, buy some extended bump stops for the front, and make some spacers to lower the rear bump stops.
Will this work well for me with no rubbing?

I am looking to buy the Rough Country 6.5" X-Series Long Arm suspension lift kit for my 1992 Cherokee 4.0. I see that it is recomended to replace the cv driveshaft and install a slip yoke eliminator, but it says that the driveshaft will not fit any 6 cylinder automatics. Are there driveshafts other than the one on their website that will work? They say theirs is from Tom Woods Driveshafts. What can I do? What do I do???

Ok so I'm about to buy new tires. I have been looking at the super swamper LTB. Anybody use these offroad? I'm talking about 4' deep mud pits straight up and down climbs hard offroading not through a water puddle in a parking lot. its my daily also but I don't care how it rides on the road lol I want something that will dominate offroad?

That kit does not include the sye or the rear drivshaft.
Extreme Flex without the Extreme Price
Front: High flex coil springs, lower high clearance arms with X-Flex Joints, upper control arms with X-Flex Joints, long arm mounting crossmember, transfer case skid plate, adjustable track bar, drop pitman arm, sway-bar disconnects, and stainless steel brakelines.
Rear: Rear leaf springs, lifted shackles, u-bolts, and stainless steel brakeline.
Shocks: Kit includes (4) High Performance 2.2 series shocks.
This is all that is included for the 1249 price. The sye and driveshaft are add-ons and if they dont fit what you have dont order it from them. You can google sye kits and there is one Ive found before with a tom woods shaft for less than what they are charging on RC. I would give you the link but my computer was stolen with the page that is bookmarked.

Yea I saw that. I was just wondering if there is any other option than to have a custom cv driveshaft made once I install the slip yoke eliminator.

So I've got through 30 pages so far, I hope this isn't a repeat ?
What is the acceptable method for limiting frontend drop? I got 3"coils and RE fixed length LCA's. The shocks are YJ 3" lift so they are longer than needed. I will have bumpstops for compression.
So is it the swaybar, control arms, or shocks that stop the axle before my steering binds? Right now my axle drops far enough for the spring to unseat.

Rustys asks that you order the sye and install it and then call them back with ur measurments for the driveshaft. They selll Tom Woods as well so that is an option for you. Unfortuanetly Rustys shipping prices are lethal

Oh alright nice. I'll just let Tom Woods or someone nearby do that for me. Thanks for the reply.

I'm planning to do a lift on my '87 XJ Chief after I sell my van. This will be my first lift so I'd like to make sure I get the right parts the first time and that I'm not missing anything.
Here's the parts list so far:
Rough Country 4.5" long arm with full rear springs
http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_4xla.html
Bullet Proof over-the-knuckle steering kit
http://bulletproofsteering.com/steeringoption.html
Currie heavy duty SYE
http://www.currieenterprises.com/ces...t.aspx?id=1048
-it says it only works with the 231-J t-case, how can I tell if my t-case is the 231-J or are there different 231 t-cases?
32x11.5 tires (undecided on brand)
Cragar black wheels
-I need advice on the dimensions, RC recommends 4.5" backspacing, will that be enough to clear the Bullet Proof OTK kit with 15" wheels or should I go with 16" wheels?
What would be my best option for a CV rear drive shaft (since RC's CV drive shaft doesn't work with the 6-cyl automatic)?
What are my options for beefing up the D30 and D35 (inside and out) or should I consider doing D44 swaps on the front and rear?
This Jeep will be used primarily on the road especially during bad weather (high water and heavy snow) for my routes (500 miles a day) plus vacation driving to Texas, Arizona, etc. (from Southern Indiana) for beach and desert offroading. I would also like to do some offroading/mudding locally.
Thanks
