Its a stock one is the only thing... I figured if i ditched the sway bar if it let it flex another inch or so it might just be too much for the brake line... Prolly get a YJ rear brake line then

In the local Craig's list there is a set of 2006 rubicon suspension. Springs and shocks, and controll arms, and also a 2012 Sahara set of springs and shocks. 100 a set, will they work on a 1996 sport? Worth it? I have a blown shock in the front as it is. Stock right now.

 

Why don't you message them and ask for collapsed and expanded measurements and then go measure your Jeep? Tho, I seriously doubt they're anywhere near the same thing.

 

Well, I was taught never to assume, but with 600 and something odd pages on a thread called "All LIFT and tire...questions" I kinda figured someone has tried and knows. Apparently you don't, hence the DUH response.

 

People run therm on 3-4 inch lifts, they might be short enough for stock, just go buy a 30 dollar Monroe at the parts store. The jk shocks will be really stiff anyway.

My lift kit said to use a spring compressor, is it needed? my jeep is stock, and the lift kit is a rubicon express 3.5 in lift.

 

its the easiest way to get it done unless you can drop the entire axle down in your personal garage.

 

Depending on how much you can droop one side at a time you should be fine without one

 

You do not need them. I did it in the driveway with just a jack and jack stands

Had you taken the time that it took to post here, read my post then reply with your smart response you could have found that 06 Rubicon shocks are 21" extended 13" compressed for the front and 19.96" Extended & 12.8" compressed for the rear.

Stock XJ shocks are 21.25" extended 13.0" collapsed for the front, 21.5" extended 13.4" collapsed for the rear.

Now, you have the information needed because I took 5 minutes out of my busy schedule to answer you. It seems that they are, in fact, very close to the same as the shocks that you already have.

I didn't. I had the track bar and tie rod out though. Just make sure you take off the brake calipers so you dont rip the lines.

Without the shocks and brake lines limiting you... you don't need compressors.
