Blocks make the wrap worse, bending/wearing out the springs and in serious cases causing breakages. Here's a quote that explains it from another forum:
just as backing to the point of the blocks my dad surprise me with a 3 inch lift for my birthday already installed on my xj when i got home it had the blocks in the back and even though they were only on for a few days til i got my RC lift the block snapped when i took them out from my jeep so i highly don't recommend blocks... if it wouldve snapped when i was on the road i couldve really had a fun day.(just a bit of backing to his statement)

Sorry, wasn't thinking and thought you were making a bastard pack. I feel stupid. Go with a 3" because if you want to lift it higher in the future with 2 " shackles.

They slam to the other side and make said sound. I'm wondering if this is a manufacturing error or are all the leaf pack front eyes thinner than stock. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

this is what I got and who I got it from but as I stated I have full leaf pack not aal
Here are my thoughts...
While removing your old springs, you have accidentally bent (it happens alot especially when the bolt is seized to the bushing sleeve) the frame bracket. Just knock the bracket back and you should be good.
This is what i'm talking about.

You may have gotten it the other way round.
Taller side should be on the passenger's side to compensate for the engine torque.
Someone please confirm.

Nope... Taller spring on drivers side. The diffrence from the driver sitting in the seat is more constant than the torque from the motor. While the xj is torquey, its not quite enough to cause a need for a stiffer spring on passenger side.

I'm trying to find the website for reference, but I'm having a hard time finding it.

Hi all! First post is in here. I've had two different ZJ's, neither of which was modified. I'm getting ready to get an XJ since my wife can't drive a stinking 5spd (my outback). I'm trying to decide which way to go. I want to lift whatever I get. There's a local "Jeep" dealership here that will do a 4.5 RC lift, wheels, tires for $2k. Since I'm pretty handy I think I could save a ton of cash doing it myself. I saw an XJ the other day that had 33's and it looked great, but I'm a bit worried about it fitting in the garage with my wife's 2012 Optima (width-wise). I'm wanting something that doesn't get completely awful gas mileage as compared to stock, and I don't want to change the gearing. I'm thinking 31's or 32's will be the best, but I wasn't sure which lift would be the best for 32's, if I go that route. I plan to do the occasional mild to medium wheeling, but not a ton. I've looked at rough country and Rubicon Express, and both options seem good. I'm not all that worried about price and want to do it right the first time. Suggestions?

31's and a 4.5" lift would work well. You wouldn't have to trim and you wouldn't need to change gearing. A buddy of mine runs that setup and his XJ is quite capable. How much wheeling do you think you'll be doing?

Honestly once every couple/few months. Nothing too too serious, but my friend has a stock JK and I'd like to keep up with him. I had thought about a 3" rough country on 31x10.5 but wasn't sure how much that would help. I found a dark red XJ on 33s I'm in love with but I do a lot of highway driving and couldn't handle that. So would the RC 3" work, or should I go RE 3.5"? Shouldn't either of those be more than enough on a 31" setup? I'll go with leaf packs too btw...I've read a ton on here and found aal's are a mistake...

Either kit would be good. RE is regarded as a higher quality kit, and people say RC rides rough. I've driven both, and I have no problem with either. I would make the decision based on price of the kits and how much the kit includes.

Not to take away from what you said, but don't a lot of people have trouble with rc leafs being too short and have to use relocation brackets?
