Anyways, my dad was saying it wouldn't be a good idea to get wheels with 3.75" backspacing, as it might adjust the steering capabilities on road too drastically. Any thoughts?

Also, im on 10.5 width 31"s on stock wheels but if I wanted to go to some wider 33's later what size wheel width would I need to run my current tires as well as my future tires?

Thanks!
Go with a 15x8 wheel and a 3.75 back spacing won't hurt your steering.

Just ordered some bolts for my leaf springs and shackles. I was given all the right specs on here by a few mbers so it's not that that I'm conened about. It is the nuts that I'm worried about. When I ordered them he said that they are Flange nuts? Will regular nuts and washers still be okay?

Ok. You will probably be able tp get 31s under there as long as your not flexing. Anyone else?

You will most likely need to trim or raise it up more. My 3" lift with 31's on 15x8 wheel with 3.75 backspacing rubbed just while turning until I trimmed the flares a bit.

I have regular nuts and lock washers on mine. Try to find a wide lock washer.

Ok, I'm looking for a lift for my XJ, so I can fit the 30's I'm picking up tonight. I really don't care too much about flex, as I don't do much off road. I just want it to have good ride quality. Here's the kicker, I measured from the center of my hub to the fair on the rear and I'm only getting 16.5in. Do shackle lifts ride better than aal? And how do they compare to stock? What would y'all do on a budget?

I'd say a 2" budget boost would do good. If you are wanting to get a good ride, search old man emu lift kits. If you are already sagging in the back, shackles, aal, and blocks won't do you much good.

Right now I'm at stock height I have 235/75/15 General Grabbers on stock rims. They rub when I'm at full steer. I have my flares off but no cuts yet.

I want to but some Cragar Soft 8s 15x7 with 4in back spacing. Is 4 inches more than stock rims and would that fix my rubbing at full turn.

Also whats the biggest/widest tire I could fit on 15x7?

4 inches is less than stock, where are the tires rubbing?

What are you rubbing on? Your lower control arms? I don't see how you would rub your flares with 235's. Lots of people run those tires on stock suspension.

4" back spacing will make the tire stick out 1.25 " further, roughly, than a stock wheel with 5.25" back spacing. I've seen people run 33x12.5 tires on 15x7, but I don't think I would personally go wider than 10.5" tire on a 15x7 wheel.
