just some questions but has anybody done a long arm setup with a 3inch lift? is it possible or worth it ? wouldnt it give you better articulation and such or would it be to much stress on front end components?

I know someone has done it before, although you would have to make it yourself. All kits on the market are for like 4-8 inches of lift. If you tried using one of those kits it would push your front axles forward. It would provide great flex and be worth it, you just have to make it

That will probably be hard to find on here because of the amount of other custom work that would have been done. Anyone that would do long arms at 3" is more than likely shooting for a low cog rig and would be squeezing something like 35" under it

Possible, but not worth it. A custom mid-arm setup is much better suited for small lifts. A long arm will end up with too flat of an arm angle, and you'll end up contacting the framerails. This is why all marketed long-arm kits are for 4.5"+

Ah, but you are comparing your 94 to OP's 97. Don't late models have more issues rubbing?

What do I need to handle 35's on a daily driver?
I have 4.5 inches of lift, trimmed from fenders, and an AW4, BUT a D30/D35 combo with some high miles on. Could I upgrade my rear axle(to a C8.25, D44, Ford 9/8.8, etc) And get stronger axle shafts for the D35 and be safe? I'd like to take it wheeling too, but since it's the daily, keeping it in one piece on pavement is kinda the priority. And I assume some better gearing would be ideal as well. 3.73's 4.11's, etc etc.
Just trying to figure out what I need to add to my laundry list!

4.56s (stronger pinion than 4.88s) ford 8.8 rear and you could get better d30 shafts or be cheap like me and carry spare shafts wheeling. Upgrade your steering though either move to a dakota pump or tap for hydro assist. Dump the stock tie rod for a v8 zj one if your cheap or build one out of dom and dump the y link altogether.
