death wobble is a result of worn joints, not lift. Trackbar keeps your axle centered.

At 3" his axle is a bit off center with the stock trackbar, but still acceptable.

Well with 3 inches of lift my trackbar joints are going to ****s and off centered my axle a lot so no I believe it's not acceptable. My xj was perfectly fine at the factory up country 1" lift with no wobble but now I'm at 3 and I've got all the wobble you can imagine. There's absolutely no way he won't need a track bar at over 2-3 "

You may have gotten very lucky if your 3 inch lift gave you no wobble issues.

I can't speak from experience because I haven't lifted yet, and I'm still learning this stuff. However, I generally find that it's best not to argue with dukie lol. I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong, but he is very knowledgeable, and he's been able to consistently back up what he says with facts and experience. I'm just saying, try discussing instead of making your experience universal. God knows all 2,884,172 XJs built from '84 to '01 are different.

I'm by no means trying to argue. I'm simply stating that with a 3" lift your axle off-centers causing damaged joints which means death wobble is right around the corner. Dukie himself stated that bad joints are the cause of wobble; those bad joints are caused by having an off-centered axle; which goes back to me saying that a trackbar IS required unless you've got time and money to constantly replace bushings and other joints.

I read that you can relocate the stock track bar brackets. Will that do the job just fine? how hard is it? and is it safe?

you can relocate the stock track bar. RC shows in there directions to mark exactly 3/4 inch over from existing hole at axle and drill a new hole. But this is for their 4.5 kit.

i personally wouldnt want to weaken that bracket. I went adjustable from RE. good 0-6"

There really isn't a measurement for that. I'm currently running a 3 inch like u said before it's off but really can't tell unless you use your ruler

So I have probably a stupid question, I have a 3.5 inch lift right now on my 89. It has blocks in the back(leafs are completely flat). I plan on putting some sort of a bastard pack on it. I'm wondering that if I can get it right about putting the pack on and leaving the blocks, and also putting spacer up front. My question is what issues would I need to know/ look at before I did this? or is it just a stupid idea?

Get rid of the blocks, causes axel wrap. get new springs or shackels. my $.02

I also have a question.

is 3.75 back spacing enough to run 35's on a 6in (ish) lift? 15X8in rims.

Cutting it really close I believe. I'm pretty sure my 33x12.5 are on 15x8 with I think 4" bs I'd have to measure that
