I am not planning on doing any off-roading except the occasional trip through the field. Installing the lift kit for more clearance in snow and was looking at the Metal Cloak because it was the only 3.5 inch lift I could find and was hoping it would give me the clearance to run the 31/10.5R15's. I know its a lot more money but that is not an issue. I just don't want to have to do any trimming. What if I went with a 3 inch lift and 30/9.50R15's and stock wheels? Any trimming need done that way. If I have to get aftermarket wheels than I can. Thanks

With a 10.5" wide tire you will need at least 4" backspacing to keep from rubbing your LCAs. I am running 31x10.5 and that is why I got new wheels.
If you want to keep the stock wheels, 30x9.5 are the biggest you can go. I ran 30x9.5 on stock suspension for about a year with no issues.
If you want some more clearance, I'd say go with a 2.5" on 30x9.5 on stock wheels and that should be perfect. Need more clearance? Than buy aftermarket wheels and do a 3" on 31x10.50. Either way you won't have to trim.
30x9.5r15 on stock suspension
31x10.50r15 on ~4" Metalcloak lift
I put a RE 3.5 super ride kit on my XJ a few weeks ago. As a newbie, I got alot of great help and advice from Serious Offroad. Turned out awesome. I'm running 31 x 10.50's on the stock wheels and have no issues to date. At install it was up at 6 inches. Settled after a week at 5in. Its now at about 4.5 with no rubbing issues.
Hey Yall I'm lookin at some new tires, I've been running some second hand BFG km2s for the past year and they're about worn out, I'm looking at either Goodyear duratracs, mtrs, or falken Rocky Mountain ats. I've heard good things about the good years but I don't know much about the Fallon's, anybody have any experience with them? Thanks!

Zero - just fender trimming. I have a 3" lift, just waiting for the time to put it on. Right now, my tires rub the LCAs and the Sway bars because of the factory backspacing on those wheels. I have a set of black d-windows w/ 3.75" backspacing going on soon as well. I also have no bumpstops - another problem which needs to be remedied soon... yes I rub all over the place (don't really care) - but my fenders are not one of them. LOL.. well, that wasn't my intention... was just trying to be helpful with the whole part number thing.
When are we installing this lift??????????
Will I need a transfer case drop with a 3" Rough Country lift? 88 Cherokee. Any other necessities? Kit has leaf pack, front and rear shocks, coils, sway bar drop brackets and front lca's. Missing anything crucial?

The better solution is a SYE and DC drive shaft because the TC drop changes the angle of the front drive shaft and it is just stronger than the slip yoke drive shaft that comes in the rear.

I'm about ready to through on my 3.5in pro comp leaf springs but I need to buy bigger coils for the front. Problem is the leaf pack has an overload spring, should I remove this or leave it on? I was worried about flex.

lol... as soon as I get some time off to do it bro! I gotta get down to Tampa and pick up the LCAs Eugene has for me too. I'll let ya know when man, I could definitely use the extra set of hands!
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend a transfer case drop at all. You correct the angle of the rear while making the angle of the front worse. It's a "Bandaid" at best. Slip Yoke Eliminator (SYE), while more expensive, will leave you better off in the long run.
Here's a chart for answer to the rest of your question:

I wouldn't leave it in unless you tow a lot. Obviously the lift height will "drop" but only by the amount of thickness of that leaf. That leaf is only useful in overload situations. It's very stiff and it will inhibit your flex to a degree. I really don't know why they put them on an off-road lift pack like that. I only see them on RC, Skyjacker, Rusty's, and Tuff Country springs. RE, OME, and the better companies don't use them. Probably a reason for that.

A little new to the whole posting thing so don't burn me at the stake.
I wanna lift and I've been looking at the 3 inch lifts but I'm not sure where to start at. which brand or what all I'm going to need. If it helps I have the D30 front and the D35 rear and just installed new rear leafs and shocks but didn't wanna tear into the front just yet to eliminate its sag. what all am I going to need for 3 inches of lift? I will be doing some light off roading but nothing major.
Would this get the job done and done right the first time?
