You seem reasonable. I like you.

Take a look at Iron Rock Offroad and Zone Offroad. Zone is the best of the budget brands, and IRO is one of the cheaper intermediary brands. If you're willing to spend a little more for quality, also take a look at Rubicon Express.

Understatement I bought RC and hate that I did. Rode horribly ended up redoing the entire kit with an RE 4.5 vs the 3.5 RC after 6 months because the RC kit sagged down to 1.5 of lift very quickly for just being on the street.

Could the 3.5 Rubicon Express kit get me on my tires with shackles, spacers, JK rubicon shocks, and bushwacker flat flares?

Like clown said. If you go with a 3.5" kit and add on top of that a budget lift, you Will now have to change other items. The shocks May need to get changed. SyE is now more of a necessity. Etc

SYE is going on anyways, but I just wanted to see if that combo could actually get me onto 33s without rubbing. Will a 1.5 budget boost on a 3.5 kit make a 5 inch lift?

Majority of the time 3.5" coils and leafs will net you between 4-5in of total lift. That is until they settle in. If it where me i would just do the 3.5" lift for now and do some trimming. Then down the road once everything has settled in look at doing spacers/shackles. Just make sure to use quality parts.

Yup. especially RE leaves. They always sit higher til they settle. Like mentioned, just do the lift. Def do the SYE and be done with it now. New trac bar.

If you are flexing, you will need to trim to fit 33's. Going down the road 5" lift should get you by. I could only turn my 33's about 1/2 way with the 3.5 RE coils on stock flares, with the coils netting me around 4" lift. For the rear, the stock flares haven't given me any issues as of yet.

I've had 3.5" re coils and leafs for a couple years I'm at 4" up front and 4.5" in the rear. That's with a heavy winch bumper , winch , sliders , and gas tank skid. I had to trim to fit 33's when hitting bumps they contacted the fenders. IMO anything over a 31 will require trimming and proper bumpstops on an xj thanks to small wheel wells.

The guys have given good guidance, but let me state that the JK shocks won't work at that height. Mine were maxed out at 3", so I recommend them for a 2" budget boost.

Thats why i love my BPEs. My rubi shocks at 4" sit comfortably. Close to max but havent had issues with "takeoff" with those dips in the road

I use my XJ as a commuter and don't want to go nuts. The following pics is what I would like it to end up looking like. Any idea what lift, tire and wheel sizes are in these pics. They look really close in lift and tire, wheel sizes to me.
Thanks!

if I had to guess the red and blue xj's are 3 or 3.5" inches with 31's and the black one might be at 4.5 with 32 or 33's
