depends on what terrain. driving style and whether or not your willing to cut the fenders up, and how much your willing to cut the fenders out.

I have a 91 running D30 and Ford 8.8.

I just sold my 33x12.5 and would like to order wheels/tires tomorrow.

GOing with 35x12.5x15 BFG MT on some 15.8 but I'm wondering which backspacing to go with to have the tire stuff properly.

The lift is the RE 5.5 SA and I have bushwhacker cutouts installed (after trimming)

So...Earlier I asked about track bars with budget-boost-sized lifts...If I didn't adjust it on about a 2-2.5 inch lift, would my axle be VISIBLY shifted? I'm kind of ocd and it would bug me so much...Basically the deciding factor between 2 and 3 inch lift for me is whether or not I need a track bar and lcas and t-case drop/sye...maybe i'll just save longer for 3 inches...

 

it would mostly be mudding and maybe some crawling here and there not to many places to crawl in south texas.

 

Need pics of a 3inch lift with 34's I'd love the pics to be swampers.i might be picking up some new tires and will have to rock them till them long arms are ready to go on.

 

Has anyone ever done some home made quick disconnects with the stock links

 

Went with the 3.5" RE super-ride kit on my XJ. Looking at shocks, and I like Rancho RS7000MT monotube. Anyone have any information on these or know if they will work with my lift height?

 

Yep. I knocked out the splined bolts and used clevis pins,clips,and washers to fasten the bar to the mount. I plan on going to lynch pins instead of clips though. Having said that most of the time my sway bar is disconnected (no rear one). I use the quick disconnects only when towing or on trips. I can post pics if you'd like.

 

So I need to replace my 265/75/16 Firestone Destination AT's.... I have had the vehicle for about 2+ years and they wore well - except the previous owner apparently went for looks vs. practical and they rub / scrape when I hit bumps etc. Not much play. I am not wanting to under take mods to the fenders / wheel well now so my question is which down-sized tire...
255/70/16 or will 245/70/16 work or will I regret going to the 245's.... I like em because they're less expensive than 255's. Thoughts appreciated.

Tirerack specs for the Destination AT's show the 245/70 at 29.5",255/70 at 30.1",and the 265/75 at 31.7". I have 235/75R15 Grabber AT's (29.1") on a non lifted XJ and have had no clearance problems. With the lift your running the 255's should work fine. Tirerack only shows a $1 diff between the 245 and 255.

 

Depending on how much you rub or how much height you wanna keep there is also an almost exact 31" 265/70/16 rather than 75s and there's also the in between your other options of a 245/75/16. Also tall and skinny 235/85/16s should clear but that's gonna be $$$$$$$ lol

 

I've got a 98 XJ, 4.0 and AX15 tranny. I put a RC Long arm upgrade on it and lifted it 6.5". My question is what would be the best shocks to go with. I'm liking the Rough Country N2.0 shocks and I can pick in up at my local 4x4 center for $170.80 with tax for all 4 of em.

 

Is there a way to put a long arm kit on a XJ with a 3.5 inch lift? Or are there any kits for it?

 

TNT has a longarm for 3.5" Others have used Clayton and serious kits also

 

I had those shocks I didn't like them too stiff for decaying streets and wouldn't soak up little bumps any good. I bought bilsteins and I feel like I'm in a Cadillac both street and off road....
