Thank you for your replies.
If you're basing it around the largest tires you can fit, you're going to run into problems with the weakness of the stock axles. Your budget and the amount of work you can do yourself (cutting and welding) will determine how far you can go.
If you're really willing to cut, you can fit 37s under a 2" lift. It won't be cheap or easy.

Always wanted a Jeep and finally did it! I purchased a 01 Cherokee in great shape, but of course it needs some minor things.
Since i'm new to all this, I know I want to add a lift and some tires. I know that I will not rock crawl or do any hard 4 wheeln' with it. But I do want it staple on the road and able to head up North during the harsh winters. I have been researching lifts, but I really want some advice on which lift works good for both Daily driver and casual off road.
I'm thinking 3" to 4" lift. I don't want to cut the fenders and I want it stable going down the road at highway speed.
Any input would be great.
Thanks

So my 93 sport is on a 3 inch lift. F150 coil springs, bastard pack from an S10 on the leaf springs, the shackles are still stock.
My question is. Can I buy 2 inch spacers for the front and 2 inch lift shackles for the rear to add a bit to my already existing lift? Or will that do nothing?

It will work that shouldn't be a problem, but at that point the lift will be high enough you need to change or other things
Such as brake lines, maybe sye etc
It can get pricey

Hey guys, I have a 96 sport and I was looking to install some sort of lift from 2" to 3", however at the time I don't have the funds to buy new tires or anything so I would have to stick with my 27" ones. Would that look goofy or make them look overly small or anything? I wasn't able to find much information about it online

id do RE 3.5" springs for front and for the rear id do 2" OME leafs and 1.5-2" shackles. now.. to the expensive stuff: you MIGHT need a SYE at this point. the rear will get to about the 4" mark without issue, but you will be eating u joints faster.. an SYE and shaft is around 300-500 depending. you'll want new control arms to match the height, tubulars from ebay are cheap enough.

this. if you aren't willing to cut (btw if you take your time they look good) then make sure to bump stop properly. it will prevent over flexing/stuffing your tires. as Tony mentioned a BB is a cheap/easy way to obtain a small amount of lift. RE springs are pretty stiff, i think like 2x the spring rate of OEM, so you can do 4" springs and be pretty stable. but really good shocks will make the biggest difference. Bilstein or rancho 5000's are good ones.
