So you mean uptravel, or compression.

Ok finely restate it, grumble grumble grumble. I want to adjust my bumpstops upfront since i bottom out to easily on them. I did so much bumpstopage since my tracbar would hit the diffcover, aftermarket one.

Hell at this point i don't even remember why i brought this up

Totally depends on the XJ. Earlier models with a 5 speed (shorter than auto trans) and a D35 (shorter pinion housing that Chrysler 8.25) make lifting more tolerable to the drivetrain, because the driveshaft will be longer. Lots of people seem to agree that between 3-4.5" lift is where SYE's start getting necessary.

I have a '97 Auto with the 8.25 rear. So with a 4" I should look at doing a SYE then?

Most likely. I'd get one for peace of mind.

Yes. Serious Offroad is selling the Rugged Ridge SYE kit for $145 plus shipping. Then all you need is a Front XJ shaft to bolt in and you're good to go.

Would you buy these to get your lift off the ground.

Yeah you're essentially just paying for the rims, and some tires you can get a little bit of time out of. Not the worst deal.

I have the same tire as a spare but in 33x12.5x15 I bought for $25 with an aluminum wheel and then got $18 for the wheel at the recycle place. So I think those should be $100 tops but if you want them then buy them. I did the same when I bought my XJ. I told myself the asking price was too much but I'm not going home without it even if they don't budge.

Those rims are $50-60 each brand new.

Don't forget about the price of having them installed on different wheels.

To that end if the tires are too old almost no shop will mount them. They will unmount and sell you new tires but refuse to mount them because it's unsafe. I had that problem when I bought the tire/wheel I mentioned above. Big O finally did it and I got the feeling they didn't know any better.
