cool.. he is looking for a black wheel.. 3.75 or 4" back will work ok then? any idea what the factory 7" wheel backspace is?
here in jersey the tires aren't really supposed to stick out at all. so technically he could be hassled for it even though i see a ton of cherokees out there with the tires really sticking out. but him being 19 i'd rather it look as close to legal as possible to avoid him getting hassled in a stop check or anything

This is a 15x8" wheel with 3.75" backspacing. 3" lift, 31" tire.
Sorry couldn't find one with the front wheels straight.

Here's one that's straighter but you still really can't tell with the weight on the back like that.

Here's the same Jeep with a different 3" lift, same tires, stock 5.5" BS wheels.

That should give you an idea of how much farther they'll stick out.
is your jeep on a lift in this pic or maybe jack stands with the axle hanging?
your shackle angle in this pic is horrible, it need to be angled back towards the rear of the XJ. If your jeep is sitting on flat ground in this pic with nothing lifting it, then you have a problem my friend.

Here is a pic with all 4 wheels down. My driveway is flat but a bit uphill.
Is this okay?
Ideal is 45 degrees pointing away from the Jeep. That's why people make those shackle relocation brackets, on top of a few other reasons. I believe longer shackles will actually make the angle worse typically, and it does impact ride feel, as well as ability for the springs to "droop". If the leaves were longer, it would help the angle by moving the connection point out farther, but personally my plan is to do a shackle relocation bracket so I can fine tune my angle w/ new leaf springs.
Just bought this 99 Cherokee Classic today, been looking for 4 weeks, super hard to come by in Utah, and got this one cheap.
I was driving next to a stock Cherokee and noticed I was sitting a lot higher than he was, I tried looking through the forum but couldn't tell if mine was stock or not or his was just sagging really bad.
Currently it has bald 245/70/16's, any help would be appreciated.

If you've got the budget, it seems the way to go. HD Offroad seems to make the best ones, they have no-lift and some that typically give you about ~1/2", but mainly it will improve your ride quality. I think alot of people run them with aftermarket shackles as well.
