Yes, but conceptually you figure that a straight down shackle would be at the end of its droop (like no vehicle weight on the springs). So if you were to attach the spring to the shackle and it had more than a straight down angle (pointing towards the front of the jeep) with no vehicle weight on them you can imagine that they would have to push the vehicle up instead of absorbing bumps as the leafs cycle. Which would really really suck to ride in.
I have an '89 Comanche 4x4. I intend to add a Rough Country 3" lift and want to run 31x10.50's. I would like to run 10" wheels............I think, just because I like the stance you get from 10" wheels. However, I intend on running the stock flares and I do not want the tires throwing mud, etc all over the sides of my truck. Is this possible with 10" wheels with the proper BS? If so, what BS should i get. Most 10" wheels have 3.625" or 4". However, Rough Country recommends 3.75 BS for 31"x10.50. Or should I just stick with 8" wheels? If so, what BS should I use to eliminate tire rub, or will it be an issue?

P.S. Rough country sucks. Look at zone offroad for a cheap lift.
10" wheels wont change your stance much. More back spacing will. You also don't want to run a 10" wide wheel on a 10" wide tire. Get a 15x8 wheel with 3.75" and the stance will look great. The tires wont stick out too far either.

Thanks for the info. However, when I look at Zone Offroad, they only offer a 4 1/2" lift for the comanche. Do you know if the application for the cherokee will fit my comanche? They do have a 3" lift for the cherokee.

Get your leaf springs from Hell Creek Suspension. Best Comanche leafs on the market.
So I have an RE 3.5" lift but I'm getting 33s for free so I was wondering if I were to put coil spacers and shackles on for another 1.5" of lift if I'd be able to fit the 33s without trimming? They're BFG KM2 33x10.5. Thanks!

Hello, if I bought a new set of coils to fit a ZJ with a V8 & has an UpCountry lift, instead of just new Heavy Duty Coil springs for my XJ. Then bought NEW Heavy Duty Leaf Pack 7" Arch, would these be a perfect fit as far as even matching front to rear height? To alleviate having to use no spacers on the front to match the new rear Heavy Duty LP.
I really don't want to go much more than stock at this point, because I don't want to many mods or headaches from lifting. I've been reading, studying, thinking and repeat. I came across the "ZJ & XJ" Front "Spring Swap" and came up with the idea. Just want to know if it will be a success. Thanks for any input.

I've got a 01 2wd sport with a 3 inch lift on it already. If I add a budget boost kit with the 3" to get to about 4.5 do I need to get a longer drive shaft? Shims? What other ways can I eliminate driveline vibes on a 2wd?
