Default Dragster

Hi guys so my 2001 XJ has been wearing her 3" RC lift for a few months,i have heavy duty 5 leaf rear springs and im not happy with the dragster look,i was kinda hoping that by now the rear would have settled level,so my question is what can i do to fix my problem, whats the best way to get the front up? can i get a spacer of some sort that will sit on top of the front coils? and if thats a fix whats the best way to measure so that i can get it right?...sorry if this all seems a bit schoolboy not great with the suspension bits.....mucho gras guys...

Do a front end alignment and check the unit bearings.

You can run a coil spacer, measure from the center of the wheel to the fender flare, front should be a half inch higher than the rear from the factory, so just buy a spacer that will he the from measurement about a half inch longer than the rear.

Great thanks Buddy il go out and measure that right now: okay so centre wheel to bottom of fender flare is 21 1/2 rear and 20 1/2 front...so il need an 1" 1/2 spacer front? and is it just a case of compress front coils with compresser tool and insert spacer?.....

No. Left and right are identical.

What arms are you using?

you gotta pull the front end apart just like when you put the coils in and slide the spacers over the bump-stop mount easy as pie....pie flavored pie even

What's the problem? One side isn't lining up with the axle or they look different when held beside each other.?

You're going to have to move the axle around to get the bolts to line up.

Well I got one lower and coil on driver side and my upper is set to 16.5 and its way off. Top bolt is thru. Should I move to other side and do the same then turn the axle to hook them up? Then should I have my track bar unhooked while I'm doing this? Also do I have to unhook the steering arms for anything? I'm new to doing lifts so any help would be appreciated

I would adjust the other arm to match

My uppers are set at 17"And my lowers Are at 18". I installed mine 1 arm at a time and had all of my steering linkages and trackbar on the jeep. Used 2 jacks on the axle and had the frame on 6 ton jack stands. I also had a buddy slide the bolts in as I manhandled the axles around.

What do you mean adjust it to match? I read that on 4.5 it's 16.5lca and 16.5uca idk if that's right or not but Lower is fixed at 16.5 and I have adj upper
