Im running re 3.5 leafs with shackles and recently did some work in the rear end.I noticed i have a broken leaf in the ds pack 2nd from the bottom. My question is how hard is it to split the pack to replace it and can it be done without removing the pack from the jeep? The break is just rear of the center pin. If more info is needed let me know, its my dd for now till i get plates on my beater truck. thanks
I recently obtained a 1999 XJ Sport, and started doing quite a bit of research on lift kits, rims/tires, and other aesthetic improvements. I've decided to go with a 3.5" lift, with 31x10.50x15 Cooper STT Discoverer Tires, and 15" American Racing Baja rims. Regarding the lift, I needed information about the many different types of lift kits. I won't be using my XJ for mudding or climbing often, if ever, but I've somewhat fallen in love with the look of the lifted XJ. I don't know if I need to get a "Suspension System with Leaf Springs" or if I can get away with the cheaper "Add-a-Leaf" option. Also, after buying this lift kit, will I need to change anything else about my vehicle? If so, what are some affordable items I could purchase?

I've had both. Aal, and full leaf packs. Definitely go for full leaf packs. The reason an aal is a poor choice for a first time lift is this: most often the condition of the leaf pack isn't enough to help the aal support the weight of the vehicle, so the aal suddenly has to support it all on its own. That's why they sag back to their original height quite quickly. Full packs are the way to go.
Your shocks and shackle angle are the main factors that determine ride quality.

3" coils. Lol. So would it be better to bastard pack, or just build add a leafs? I'm obviously tryin to build the cheapest thing I can. Just want it to be safe and not tank like.
