Your going to want 15x8 with 3.75 backspace so you don't rub.

You shouldn't have to trim that much considering I'm at 3 with 33s and a mild trim

Dukie,

Did you do anything special to the roof, or did you just throw that tire up there? I'm going to need to know when I get my full sized spare.
Thanks,
Dylan

Hey guys, I need help, I am very new to the Jeep family. I have a 99 jeep grand cherokee. I want to lift the body 3" but we don't want to mess with the drive shaft etc...
I just want the lift, so I can have bigger tires, we want to be able to play in the mud etc.
What do I need to get or look for?
Thanks!!

Just google body lift, they're all the same.

You can't do a body lift...

You'll have to do the suspension. At three inches the most you should need to add on top of the lift is a tcase drop if your jeep is picky.

No real need for a sye, driveshaft and stuff like that. You can extend your brake lines for piece of mind but really if you go with a standard RC or whatever 3inch lift it's pretty much all bolt on and go stuff. Don't need to relocate the track bar nothing like that.

I did some measuring last night and looks like a front drive shaft to rear conversion will work for me with an NP242 and taking into consideration I still need the HNT SYE and tail cone swap thing. The bonus seems like I would have a spare shaft without actually having a spare shaft. Front could be moved to the rear in the case of a broken rear shaft or u-joint. Does this seem like it would work?

Yup, that's what's nice about it.

I carry one spare shaft. It works for front or rear except I have to carry a spare u-joint flange for the 8.8.

Have you ever had a flamge fail? Never thought about that. Maybe I'll buy two when it comes time for the 8.8

I'd be surprised if it did, they're pretty beefy. But it's certainly possible.

They're beefy but no any more beefy than the ears on a axle shaft.

I wouldn't run it... Too close to the leaf springs on the stock rims?
