Lol no no. From what ive seen, i can ge tthe R&P sets for front and rear gor around $500ish. So theyre charging $1500 for installation? That just seems insane. Even now theyre asking $370 to install my sye and thats not counting the $200 the sye cost.

Yup. I'd say learn to do it yourself or ask around for a "mechanic buddy" who'd help you out. Even a local mechanic shop can do this stuff and probably a lot cheaper.

That depends on the condition of your current stock springs.
The 'ideal' angle is 45° towards the rear when viewing from the side. I'd say anything between 45-70° is decent. What you will commonly hear as 'bad' shackle angle is pretty much anything close to 90°...or straight up and down. With the shackle at 90° it won't give as much when you hit a bump, causing a very stiff and unenjoyable driving experience. A good shackle angle allows the springs to flatten out easier when hitting bumps, and you'r kidneys will be very thankful.

I went into the Kansas City area BS thread just to say hi and tell them what I was planning on doing to my jeep and had 3 different people tell me they'd come help if I needed...and I didn't even ask!
People are on here because they're helpful (or XJ junkies) so find some guys nearby and you'll prolly also find some help. Just stock up on beer, my $.02.

I've done a lot of reading on this subject of late.
Consensus is that if you have a 06/96 build date or later, you probably have a 29 spline ...approaching certainty as the year wore on.
...and yeah, mine is an 05/96.

I'm going to be pulling the axles to upgrade to rear discs in the next few weeks is how I happened to be doing all that studyin' up on the axles stuff; thought it might be a good time to do that upgrade, too (and wanted to know what to keep my eyes open for in a JY run).
