My 97 xj has aftermarket steel wheels on it that the previous owner installed (I believe they’re Vision Soft 8’s) but they do not have center caps.
I’d like just a simple small chrome cap that would cover the hub nut, but I don’t know if one would even fit. I feel like a cap pushed in from behind would interfere with the mounting surface of the wheel. Does anyone here have any ideas on what would fit? I can’t seem to find information other than one thread about different wheels that didn’t really give an answer. I would really appreciate any ideas you have to offer.
Sometimes if the wheel was manufactured with a center cap in mind there would be either a recessed lip, a chamfer on the back side of the opening, or both...That would be the first thing to check...

I’ll check that. As far as I can see from the front there is no gap.
