Aftermarket Speakers
Also, I'm on a similar budget as well. I'm not looking to go above $150 for all four, but if there's something that's definitely worth going a little higher, I'll take suggestions.

I bought these speakers but they were on sale for $63 last week when I bought them. They are great. I don't think I could for anything better for the price. But if you don't want to spend that much, some 2 way speakers sound pretty good and will be an upgrade from blown speakers

Thanks for the response. I'm thinking about going with those, but I'm trying to figure out if I should put them in front and back, or try to run a different setup. This will be my first time doing car audio, and I've heard from a few people that you could run better speakers in the front and cheaper or nothing in the rear because the back doesn't make that much of a difference. Did you run them in the front and rear?

Yes, I bought 4 of them. I think having all 4 will sound a little better. But for the stock holes, in the front I just drilled through the carpet to the door and made new holes in the door and I need to get longer screws for those. And for the rear I cut bigger holes in the door panel because my '91 jeep doesn't have a sound bar and I had to put those 2 speakers in sideways so that the screw holes on the speaker would actually hit the fiberglass door
i have 4 kicker mid range speakers in my jeep xj and i regret it they have great high range but terrible bass any bass at all and they distort and rattle it sounds horrible, i tweaked my radio settings and nothing works so im probably about to buy some pioneer speakers.

New speakers take 4-6 weeks of regular use to break in. Until then, expect them to be very tinny and high pitched. The suspentions have to get used to your climate as well. Dont panic about sound until at least a week in, and you are not hearing improvement.
Your mids have a built in crossover, they will never have bass.
pioneer ts-a1305c is a great 2 piece speaker with a crossover that costs less than 75 bucks a pair.
you can put anything really in the rear, i would go with a similar priced 6.5"
