Is there anything drastically different between the different headers available for the 4.0L besides possibly the build quality? To me they all look the same and not much different from the stock manifold. Any opinions on the matter are appreciated.
Stainless steel, ceramic coating and better welds are usually why people buy headers from brands like Gibson versus ebay stuff.
The factory 4.0 manifold is often called a header - it's pretty good except when it comes to rust - They crack really easily which is why a lot of OE-spec replacements have flex joints.
I really like my Gibson. Fit like a glove.

I bought the Banks Torque Tube when I did my build because my stock one was rusted to hell and I figured might as well change it when the motor was out. I definitely like the sound a lot more, I think it looks great, and the quality is awesome. I would venture to say I got a little more low end torque out of the deal, but not super huge gains. I did notice a difference though. Go for it

For what you pay for the Banks or Gibson the returns are too small. The head flange on the ebay units are under spec. Once this is corrected there will be minimal reason to buy a big name. Upgraded motor mounts will resolve the cracking issue and is money better spent. I'm a fan of rustys offroad mounts.

Ive been running an Ebay unit for a little over a year now. I think the one i bought is currently in the 40 dollar range. The flange was undersized but some tacked on washers will fix that issue. I can buy a lot of ebay headers for the cost of something like a Banks Torque tube.
