For those who dont know, the AW-4 is a Toyota transmission. This plug is used for a temp sensor on thier trucks, and Chrystler never used it. The T-55 plug is located in front of the forward transmission line right behind the bellhousing on the passenger side.
I had to put the torx socket in and pry against the transmissikn dipstick tube to pry it out of the way but i got her in.
The sensor assembly was hard to tighten down since i dont have stubby wrenches but I managed.
Hopefully I can finalize the housing next. Really all I have left is the gauge housing, engine oil temperature sensor, and finally wiring. I cannot wait to wire it all together, that is my favorite part. Stay tuned!
If the tranny in my '00 had that port I would do that just to do it.
Figure put the gauge in that spot behind the transfer case lever in the console like I have seen other guys do.
I don't even tow but figure what the hell.
But with it not there figure why bother even though from what I understand it can still be done pretty so....

Yeah I've seen a lot of people put it there. I don't like doing stuff the same way as other people (I'm sure you can tell by now) but that spot only really makes sense to me for the transfer case. If I was not going to put the gauges in the dash I would honestly do something similar but in the ashtray compartment. Like remove the ashtray and build a box that attaches to the front of the center console and goes up to the ashtray and mount them there. I think I could squeeze in 4 gauges too. The only reason why I did not do that is because I want to build that cubby for storage there, not gauges.
Now the real kicker is, if I were to be able to get my hands on a system sentry, I would stop my current project dead in its tracks and put the gauges down in the ashtray area!
So I worked a little bit on the wiring diagram. I tried to make it mirror the FSM as much as possible so it is as proper as I can make it. This will NEED revised though; the layout of what's coming out of the fuse block and into the auxiliary instrument cluster is wrong, but it is a placeholder. The three problems I am having at the moment is trying to figure out where exactly I am going to pull ignition feed from, where I am going to pull the dimmer from for the backlights, and where I am going to ground it back to. This is just preliminary to get my understanding, and so y'all can comment on how you think I should go about it. If you have a FSM and you know where the best places I should pull ignition, dimming, and ground from then drop a picture of the schematic so I can edit my document. Until then, enjoy my Microsoft Paint work
