Do i need to shorten the uppers? This is maddening. I cant get the coils to not hit the sway bar links. 6.5 inch iro springs and RC drop brackets.

Was that taken with the suspension unloaded? It is hard to tell
Are you sure it isn't a sway bar/link problem? Those bushings look like they are done for. The frame mount bushings might be worn allowing the bar to shift toward the rear. Maybe something is bent?

suspension is slightly loaded. I cant put at ride height without the swaybar links getting in the coils. I followed the yuccaman guide for lengths, and the axel seems tilted forward quite a bit. The sway bar is pretty tight. I plan on putting new everything on the front end, so the bushings are getting replaced. I'm going to try setting the lowers at 16 and shortening the upper to get the spring plate a little more level. Would an unloaded pic help?

I don't think your sway bar end links are long enough for your lift causing the problem. My 01 has a 3 inch lift and instead of the extended end links that I had...they were always breaking...I decided to go with drop brackets that I saw in Colorado..I like them. The mount hole should be perpendicular to the end link and bushings at normal ride height. If I drop my bar to your angle, it would probably hit my springs too.Disconnect them and raise your bar till the mount point hole is level...see how much clearance you have from the spring

I think you're right. The springs are 6.5" of lift, and it was 5.5" when i got it. I took the sway bar out to move it around back to work on the rusty floors. I am thinking about doing the drop and adjustable discos. Thanks for the help! This process really sucks.

The swaybar should not dictate your control arm lengths at all. Set the wheelbase with your lowers and set your caster angle with the uppers. Figure out what the swaybar needs to do to work after your lengths are set.

it was binding no matter what i did. I took it off just to move the jeep. I'm going to put it back on when I get it in the back and get some adjustable discos.

This! As of right now, the sway bar doesn't matter. Put control arms in without it and get your wheels centered in the wheel well and work on the caster angle and pinion angle. An angle finder and a YouTube video and you can find out what you need to do with the pinion angle.

To me it looks out of wack. Lengthn lowers shorten up till axle is centered and coil looks straight at ride heigth.

This may put pinion angle out of wack but will be near where it was factory. Take pics befire taking pem stuff apart.
Snapping lines on concrete floor to refrence when going back together.

wish I would have taken measurements before I yanked everything out.

I'm documenting this for others so they don't make my mistakes. I'm starting with stock length (because rough country CS told me their drop brackets are meant to use stock armsł) and measuring the wheel base. Stock is 101.4" hub to hub, so that makes setting weel base fairly simple.
