sway bar hitting coil springs
Im installing 4.5 RE springs, 1.5" spacers, and RE double adjustable control arms with drop brackets and running into some adjustment issues.
i have both lower and upper arms adjusted in all the way in. i started with the uppers out about 1 inch. my sway bar is hitting the coils. it looks like the springs have some arc in them pushing them forward. i made the lower longer, and the upper shorter and it rotated the axle and the spring cup so it took the arc out, but moved the front axel out too much and back into the sway bar. i'm sure my castor angle is way off now. it almost seems like it needs a shim at the front of the spring cup. what am i missing?

It sounds like you have it adjusted properly now, I have done multiple alignments just by eyeballing the angle of the coil. When I take them in to check them they are usually within 1 degree. My guess is that those RE arms are made to run from 3-1/2" to 6" of lift WITHOUT drop brackets. Now that you are running them with drop brackets they are too long and pushing your axle too far forward. Personally I like a little stretch in the front end and I dont run a sway bar. Problem Solved.

Is your sway bar actually hitting the coils or are your sway bar disconnects hitting your coils?
I was just reading a thread on jeepforum, and it turns out the guy had the sway bar disconnects on backwards.

thanks guys!
i actually had the same brackets and arms on another XJ with 4.5" lift. it was close but not hitting. the arm itself is hitting now. i have not installed the JKS quick disconnects yet. is there such a thing as a shorter sway bar?
i would like to drive this occasionaly on the road and can't imagine driving it without a front swaybar- rear is gone.
