that's BS... if you start with good strong stock leaf that is not sagging the AAL will work GREAT

if however you start with a sagging rear leaf then you will end with a sagging rear leaf...

no sagging here... I got my entire Rough Country 3" AAL lift for $70 used... it did come with brand new oem springs that the guy purchased when he installed the 3" lift... they are around 3 years old now

1) You only want about 2 inches of lift

2) Your current leafs are in great condition and do not sag

Under these conditions, I've seen good quality AAL's do their thing and last a good while without causing a rough ride. However, above 2 inches of lift is risky. Some people have good results, others have bad. It's all about what the person can afford and/or what they want to do.
my rough country 3" AAL settled at 3.25" and has not went down since... just sayin... also it rides great

the thing is AAL don't ride bad, it's the fact that people that use AAL cheap out... they run the cheapest shocks they can get and they end up with a vertical shackle angle...

If your going to aal, then why not just bastard pack? It's cheaper, better, and if it sags add more.

If you put a new 3 inch full packs on a already 2 inch sagging xj, guess what you get, 5 inches. My point is do you want 3 inches more or 3 inches more then stock?

Just saying why buy a AAL if you can make one. I'd never AAL personally I like new strong leafs, not weak 10-20 YO ones.
