Not really chroming it, I meant rattle can it with chrome color lol. That way u can see dirt on it, easier to clean? Lol. Plus it have the added benefit of blinding other people who open the hood if the path of sunlight rays hits it just on the right angle lol.

Vht has good high temp paint you can order on Amazon to find almost any color, they even have a few metallic engine paints and they all hold to 650°f
