So I have been a long time owner of many many many many XJ's I have had them since I was in high school and my first one ever we installed the tried and true 3" super lift which was Coils, add a leaf, and shocks and man thought we were u stoppable. This was before all these aftermarket company's out there now. That same Cherokee received homemade control arms and coil spacers to give 6" of lift later down the road before there were aftermarket control arms and 6" coils. Since then I have had at least 40 XJ'S of various builds some bought and others built everything from full widths to long arms to 3" kits. Well it was a proud moment when my daughter started driving and of course she wanted a XJ of her own. We found a 99 with 240k on the meter and had a blown head gasket we purchased for 250 bucks. Well fixed the head gasket did a complete cooling system rebuild on it and fixed the head liner. We installed front and year bumpers off eBay which are built very very well and then came the lift. We started off with a simple 3" kit of coils, shocks, full length add a leaf and then added adjustable upper and lower control arms, adjustable double shear front track bar from Rough country which is prolly the stoutest track bar I have ever seen with a really beefy top bracket replacement, and we added 1" spacers to the front. We went with 31's and put them on pro comp black wheels. She is tickled with her ride that is named Ruth. Life is really easy with these Jeeps now with the amount of aftermarket support out there that's for sure.
