97 cherokee bottom end knock

Hello I just bought a 97 cherokee and it has a bottom end knock, im thinking its a rod bearing but im praying it's not. Any ideas of what I can do before I start ripping the motor apart?

Let's hope so, a good friend of mine came over and listened to it and said the same thing. He owns a Jeep and said he had some come out and it made the same noise.

is it really loud? like a clunking sound or more like ticking, clanking sound? and does it only happen at idle? or does it get louder with the engine? hows the oil pressure?

look at the center hub, it sits too far back from the center of the wheel well. any flex and you'll rub. did you install the lift or buy it like that? are the coils vertical or slanted slightly backwards towards the bottom? makes for bad driveline angles.
