Alright as the topic states I have a 92 xj that has a bent c mount and lower arm mount on the front axle. I found a good axle out of a 96 and was wondering I'd it would work on mine? I do have a 3inch lift if that plays into anything

 

as long as the 96 axle is from a cherokee, not a grand, then it's a direct bolt in.

just have to make sure the gears match.

it will work i have a 94 front axle in my 92. tj and zjs front axles are direct bolt in, a wj will not.

 

automatic 4.0 = 3.55 gears
5 speed 4.0 = 3.07 gears
unless your jeep has the "tow package"

 

I have the auto 4.0 but idk if the PO swapped gears for the 33's
