96 4.0 head onto 92 block possible???
I have a 96 cherokee with a bad block I also have a 92 full motor but my plan was to use the 96 head on the 92 block is that possible because I saw that the 96 head is slightly different from the 92 block if they r compatible with each other I already have headgasket for it but its for the 96 can I still use it on the 92 block
And has far as I can tell everything is the same as the 95 and older distributor fuel rail etc. Besides the oil filter direction and the intake/throttle body what all will I have to swap and change to work on the 96
The jeep was 09 in 95 so idk that may play a factor in something

The only issue you'll run into is, the 96 head may not be drilled and tapped for the coolant temp sensor for the in-dash gauge. It's located on the driver's side of the head, all the way at the back. Otherwise, the 96 head will bolt right on to the 92 block; very minimal changes between those years. You should measure lifter preload when reassembling the motor.
