6.5 long arm upgrade
A friend of mine has offered me his jeep for parts for $1200 it has a 6.5 in long arm rough country lift that is practically new with a locker front axle. I have a 92 cherokee that i would be transfering the parts over to. It currently has a 3 inch teraflex lift and 31s. I have ambition to do serious wheeling but at the same time would need my jeep as a dd. My question is whether it would be worth the labor and money to buy this, as well as whether a jeep with so much lift is dd-able (occassional highway mostly town). i would likely make back 500 parting and junking the thing. I have heard a long arm is well worth the money and improves the ride as a whole. curious to hear from other long arm lift owners who have experienced both
My jeep has 173k and a few mods

Found out more about the parts jeep and it actually has a 6 inch skyjacker lift not the rc i thought it was, wondering if tthats any good. It also has a locked d30 up front that I'd like to swap, but the rear is a d35 which I have read is way worse than the 8.25 I already have

Well for 1200 dollars you could just buy it and have a ton of parts. But it sounds to me like you need to do more research on what parts you are getting for that price. Put in SYE on your case or his, who ever has the 231 in theirs and then install the lift and swap tires. Part out the rest of the jeep and pay most of your bills back. The d35 is trash, put it on cragslist. What kind of locker is in the d30?

I hate buying someone elses parts pile. his asking price isnt unreasonable but you're gonna have to work hard to make it worth your while
anyway. long arms are sweet skyjacker components however, are not

He bought it with the locker already in, so we don't know what kind, would pulling cover off to find out be worth it?, and the thing already has sye's and the lift is practically new. But I don't want to put the lift on if its going to cause all kinds of problems, does anyone have experience with the skyjacker 6 inch
