Default 5" lift annndddd...tire size?

Hey guys...I'm at 5.25" of lift and its time for tires. I mainly do trail riding and mud so I'm looking for a little more ground clearance than my 31's are giving me. I really am having a tough time deciding between 32's, 33's or possibly even a little larger. If anyone has recommendations for a good sized tire that they have found is good at about 5" of lift please let me know. Pictures or just recommendations would be great!! Thanks guys!

You should be fine with 33s, but you will have to trim fenders some. Moved to ADV Tech, this is not a build...

you could fit 37's under 5" of lift.

what is the deciding factor between 32's and 33's? 5" lift is a bit much for 32's, and way to much for 31's.

i think at 33's you would be pretty good

Wow...see I would like to go 33's or possibly even 35's but I've read that at 35's you have to worry about upgrading axles and also reinforcing steering box etc. Is there much truth to that?

yes there is truth to that. personally, i wouldn't go any bigger than 35's on stock axles. and if you do serious wheeling, stick with 33's so you wont have to worry as much about breaking stuff.

but, many people have gotten away successfully with 35's on their stock axles, you would definitely want to upgrade some stuff though. seems that those with luck on 35's on dana 30's run a full case locker (ARB, detroit) alloy shafts, spicer 760 u-joints, truss, diff cover, all that jazz.

i feel pretty confident with my setup right now (alloys, spicer 760's, etc..) on 33's. and you would have to do quite a bit of trimming to fit the 35's.

get 34s"... super swamper ltbs... loud on the road but handle well and they last forever and great in the mud!... very happy with mine... best mud tire (exluding boggers which you should never use on the road.. unless you want to repave everystreet in rubber) i have ever owned... just be sure you get the LTB tsll not the normal TSL... normal tsl doesnt have nearly as much tread and none of the side luigs

thats weird.. mine have almost 50 and still have the part of the second stage... I dont spin the wheels at all, but i drove from MT to LA and from LA to PA and back... and alot of long trips... no problems at all
ive had their TSL, Boggers, and also ran the baja claws and these have outlasted them. I think they are great for a mud tire...

33s any bigger and you need to upgrade more parts. you will need to cut a little bit because no amount of lift makes the wheel wells any bigger.
