Doing it right on OR on a budget. They never go hand in hand. Rustys, currie and serious off road do steering upgrades. Seems like you need more research before you tackle a lift.

What is your budget for the lift total including tires (size)/& wheels (kind)?? The list Duma posted is right on and really a few more items are required.

What size tires do you plan on running? 5" of lift is a lot of time/money/effort for the looks IMO.

Yeah I completely agree. If you're lifting for looks just budget lift 2 inches, stuff some 31s under there. I'm all about modified vehicles, but lifting so high is impractical and a wallet killer. I'm currently in the midst of lifting of 6.5 and it's not a cheap endeavor by any means. I my daily driver is a slammed out 09 acura tsx. So just like lowering extreme amounts requires camber kits, skid plates, proper offset wheels, rolling fenders. If you're used to lowering cars you will know doing it right with quality parts isn't ever cheap. Hope this helps your decision.

You can check out my build thread for my GFs 2 door. She daily drives it with 5-5.5"s of lift on 35s and didnt need everything on that list. She has about $300-$400 into her lift setup (some new and some used parts)

If you installed the SYE yourself and bought a used driveshaft replaced u-joints it would cost you at least $3-400 for that alone zero for anything else.

OK you didn't "Need" that then, how much were the tires/wheels and the gears that had to be changed for the 35's?

Why not just run 3" of lift and 32s. that would look better IMO. You might have to trim the fender flares a bit but it will work and be much cheaper

Sell the 3" coils and spacers and use that money towards a set of coils: http://www.seriousoffroadproducts.co...f743558c6f7123

Next, get rid of the drop pitman, buy a double shear trackbar like IRO sells, go to aftermarket steering, pick up a set of relo brackets, aftermarket shackles, adjustable uppers and lowers, SYE, shims for the rear axle, some new shocks... I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Larger lifts are not cheap.
